At a glance
More than 130 wineries across four districts, plus lavender fields, a summer concert season, and room to spread out on acreage.

Industry
More wineries than I can keep track of
Woodinville’s wine country is one of the things I love showing people who are new to the area. Woodinville Wine Country’s own count puts it at more than 130 wineries, arrayed across four winemaking districts: Downtown, Hollywood, Warehouse, and West Valley. I always tell people to plan a whole afternoon, because there is no way to see even one district properly in an hour.
A lot of the wineries do more than pour tastings. Chateau Ste. Michelle hosts a full summer concert series right on its grounds, and I try to get to a show there every year; it turns an afternoon of wine tasting into a whole evening out.

Recreation
Lavender fields and a sauna I keep going back to
When the lavender is in bloom, I love driving past Woodinville Lavender’s fields, even on days I do not have time to stop. The farm mostly hosts private events, but the fields themselves are worth the detour on a summer drive.
Fyre Sauna, a wood fired sauna and cold plunge that describes itself as sitting in Woodinville Wine Country, is a favorite of mine, hydrotherapy that is invigorating and relaxing all at once. You move between heated saunas and a cold plunge, all outdoors, so even when it is pouring rain or snowing you can still go. Between the wineries, the fields, and an evening concert now and then, I never run out of reasons to spend an afternoon out here.
Architecture
Room to spread out
One of the things I love telling people about Woodinville is how much range it has. You can find suburban communities close to the wineries, and you can also find acreage out toward the edges of town, the kind of property where you could keep your own mini farm or a couple of horses.
That range is part of what makes Woodinville such an interesting place to help someone look for a home.
